LOS BANDIDOS, MOJACAR

Los Bandidos is a Mojácar based group of like-minded active people who run, cycle, swim, drink coffee and eat cake!

The running group was originally set up in June 2018. It started with a small group and has now grown to include runners, joggers and walkers, from permanent residents, regular visitors and holidaymakers. All ages, nationalities and speeds are welcome.

We meet every Wednesday and Saturday to run, jog or walk the 5k Mojácar Paseo and often participate in competitive races.

Los Bandidos also have a road cycling group, who cycle Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, a group of sea swimmers, who meet on Wednesday afternoons and a triathlon group, participating in the annual Vera Triathlon.

As well as keeping fit and active, Los Bandidos are keen to integrate and support the local community. We have raised funds for MACS and PAWS and are currently collecting non-perishable food and toiletries for the Red Cross Food Bank. We also supported the Red Cross Christmas Toy Appeal, donating a large selection of toys, stocking fillers, cuddly toys etc for 52 local children who otherwise would not have received a visit from Santa or the Three Kings.

We are very sociable and most sessions are followed by a post-activity coffee, cake or breakfast, depending on the time of day. Follow us on Facebook to keep up-to-date with our latest activities.

PULPI GEODE, PULPI

If you love caves, rock formations and minerals, this is the right place to go.

A fantastic attraction and great value for such a fantastic tour. There's underground stairs to manage but there are lifts available for those who might find them challenging.

You must book via the website, and make sure to get there early as they usually collect you at the ticket booth about 10 minutes before the tour starts.

BEST BEACHES IN ALMERÍA

With so many beaches to choose from, how do you choose the best one? From idealic sandy beaches, to rocky beaches great for snorkelling, here are our some of the best beach in Almería for everyone.

Playa La Carolina & Playa De Los Cocedores, Murcia

2 coves back to back, Carolina faces north and Cocedores faces south.

A 1 minute walk between both beaches, but each can give you a very different experience.

If the wind and waves are coming from the North, surfers will enjoy the big waves on the Carolina, yet the water will still be flat, shallow, and safe on Cocedores.

If the wind and waves blow from the south, the shallow waters in the Carolina bay mean you can wade far out and still only be waist-deep in warm waters.

Sandy beaches, paddle boards/kayaks for rent, and 2 beach bars to accompany.

Book for lunch at the beach bars on arrival to the spot, as they can get busy just as you're getting hungry!

Playa El Corral, Carboneras

Great for snorkeling!

Very stoney beach and if the wind blows from the south, the water can be a little fresh out of high season.

Bring some bread with you, swim out just a few meters on the left side of this little cove, break the bread up and you'll have schools of fish around you in no time!

La Isleta Del Moro, Cabo De Gata

A beautiful little fishing village in the Cabo De Gata.

There's a picturesque rustic sandy beach cove with shallow waters, surrounded by plenty of rocks which makes for a calm place to go snorkeling.

Bring some comfortable walking shoes/trainers for a short hike up the rock for fantastic views.

There are also tapas bars and cafes in the village for a snack.

El Playazo De Rodalquilar

Amazing huge sandy beach cove, but if you stick to the left hand side, you'll see rock formations creating small little private coves, big enough for a family or 2 (get there early to nab a spot).

Again, bring your trainers if you'd like a stroll around the white rocks to see amazing views.

You may even see some locals cliff jumping, but with no life guards on site, we don't recommend taking a leap yourself!
